In time for the 2021 National Women's Month Celebration, the League of Cities of the Philippines and the Embassy of Canada will be conducting the closing ceremony of the "Promoting Gender and Development (GAD) Advocacy in Philippine cities through Establishment and Strengthening of GAD Focal Point Systems (GFPS) Project," also known as the GFPS Project, on 9 March 2021.
The GFPS Project was funded by the Embassy of Canada Philippines through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI). It was designed to improve the capacity of LGUs in Philippine cities to better implement policies that encourage better outcomes for women and girls.
The closing event will feature the launch of a guidebook that documents the best practices of 17 cities related to their implementation of the GFPS. A video explaining the key concepts of GFPS and GAD Planning and Budgeting (GPB) in LGUs will also be presented. Further details will be announce. Stay tuned!
