RE : INVITAION TO LCP MEMBER-CITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2ND GUANGZHOU INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR URBAN INNOVATION 2014

The Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (Guangzhou Award) is an annual recognition for innovative urban programs and projects which is co-sponsored by the United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), the World Association of the Major Metropolises (Metropolis), and the City Government of Guangzhou, China.

The 1st Guangzhou International Award was held on November 2012 with over 255 entries from 153 cities. Five cities – Vienna (Austria), Kocaeli (Turkey), Seoul (South Korea), Lilongwe (Malawi), and Vancouver (Canada) - with their respective entries emerged as winners.

The competition is open to all cities and regions worldwide. The five winning cities will receive a USD 20,000 cash prize and a commemorative certificate. Winners will also be invited to attend special events like the Guangzhou International Conference on Urban Innovation.
