The Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Interior and Local Government endorse the invitation from the Foreign Affairs of Guangzhou Municipal People’s Government for cities and local government units to submit entries to the 2016 Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (Guangzhou Award) and participate in the 3rd International Conference on Urban Innovation to be held in December 2016.

The Guangzhou Award is co-sponsored by United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), World Association of the Major Metropolises (Metropolis), and the City of Guangzhou of the People’s Republic of China. It aims to recognize innovative public policies, projects, programs and practices undertaken by cities and regions that will contribute in sustainably addressing the socio-economic and environmental challenges in cities and regions and in advancing the prosperity and quality of life of their citizens. It is open to all cities and regions worldwide.

The Rules and Procedures of the Award, Submission Guidelines, and the Registration and Application Form are uploaded in the LCP Website (www.lcp.org.ph).

All interested cities must email the completed forms and supporting documents to the Guangzhou Award Secretariat at email address info@guangzhouaward.org not later than May 31, 2016.
