Promoting Gender and Development Advocacy in Philippine Cities through Establishment and Strengthening of GAD Focal Point System

2019 to 2021

 

The LCP implemented the Promoting Gender and Development (GAD) Advocacy in Philippine Cities through Establishment and Strengthening of GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) project with support from the Government of Canada through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives. The project focused on improving the capacity of Philippine cities to better outcomes for women and girls by generating evidence and best practices to support the GFPS. Through the project, the best practices of cities related to GFPS and GAD-related initiatives were documented in a guidebook designed to aid cities in replicating said good practices.

Based on the available Situational Reports from the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC), a total of 64 cities have been affected by Typhoon Quinta, Rolly, and Ulysses.
