INVITATION FOR MEMBER-CITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2014 SEAL OF GOOD LOCAL GOVERNANCE: PAGKILALA SA KATAPATAN AT KAHUSAYAN NG PAMAHALAANG LOKAL

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is scaling up its Seal of Good Housekeeping with Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG). The SGLG incorporates new indicators on disaster preparedness, social protection, business-friendliness and competitiveness, peace and order and environmental management in assessing local governments to qualify them for the Performance Challenge Fund (PCF).

The PCF supports local development initiatives anchored on national government’s goals and strategies. Local governments, however, must attain a passing score in major assessment areas to become an SGLG recipient and to access the fund. Regional and national teams will help validate the score during the later part of this year.

We encourage our member-cites to support this initiative.
