Here are the highlights of the PRRD's briefing yesterday, 02 August 2020:

 

7-POINT RESPONSE OF THE CABINET TO THE APPEAL OF HEALTH CARE WORKERS

① Hiring of more healthcare workers and deployment of health workers in private hospitals

 

② Additional benefits for healthcare workers:

- PHP 10,000 risk allowance for the private sector and free life insurance under Bayanihan Act 2

- Free accommodation and transportation

- Free and frequent testing to be included in expanded testing strategy

 

③ Use of work and quarantine passes

 

④ Strengthening localized lockdowns and Oplan Kalinga using COVID CODE teams

 

⑤ Intensify strict enforcement of minimum health standards and 20 million cloth masks to the poor

 

⑥ Use of RT-PCR as gold standard

 

⑦ To recommend MECQ for NCR, Laguna, Rizal, and Bulacan from August 3 to 18, 2020

 

APPROVED DIRECTIONS AND DIRECTIVES OF PRRD

• Strongly recommended that additional stipend, allowance, insurance, free accommodation and transportation, and free and frequent testing in Bayanihan Act 2

 

• Approved recommendation for MECQ in NCR, Laguna, Rizal, Bulacan, and Cavite from August 4 to 18

 

• Approved recommendation of NTF Chief Implementor Sec Galvez to provide at least PHP 10,000 for infected healthworkers to compensate for their anguish, stigma

 

• Health workers to be tested every two days

 

• Directed SND Lorenzana to mobilize doctors, nurses and volunteers from the military. 10,000 nurses in armed forces to be mobilized as medical frontliners Government may mobilize also reservists to help in COVID fight if needed

 

• Directed Ombudsman Martires to prosecute those who are involved in graft and corruption

 

• Directed SILG Año to ensure that LGUs pass ordinance on anti-corruption
