Sipalay City is set to pursue Sustainable GAINS (Goals 2020, Advancement, Innovation and Inclusivity, Nutrition, Safety and Security), the city’s 2019-2022 Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA), amid the coronavirus 2019 pandemic.

Sipalay City Mayor Maria Gina Lizares, during her first year anniversary in office, vowed to pursue sustainability – the central theme of 2019-2022 ELA of the city - despite the threats of the pandemic.

“We are currently working to establish our own decentralized water treatment system and sewerage treatment plant, a project that promotes advancement, and safety and security,” Lizares said, adding that the agenda this time will serve as a real guide in accomplishing the vision and mission of the city government.

At present, Sipalay City is one of the local government units with the no confirmed COVID-19 case, still, the local local Inter-Agency Task Force against COVID-19 loosen its strict border regulations and public health protocols.

“The Sipalay City government, through the Inter-Agency Task Force, works hard in ensuring the safety of our residents,” she said while thanking the efforts of the health front liners, barangay LGUs, uniformed personnel and other agency partners

The mayor also extended her sincere thanks to the city, barangay, and Sangguniang Kabataan officials for their contributions during the community quarantine period of the city. (LTP/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
