LCP inks environmental cooperation with Seoul Metropolitan Government

As the leading, committed and proactive government league in the Philippines, the League of Cities of the Philippines inks partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government on environmental policy and technology exchanges.

The Memorandum of Understanding will determine the specific areas of cooperation in the field of environment and the related requirements to develop environmental policies and technologies.

Both parties, on the basis of the principal of mutual benefits and equality, shall exchange and share necessary expertise and experiences in solar energy and waste management to enhance our mutual interest and promote common development

Mayor Bautista recognizes the importance of sharing the experience and best practices of Seoul City with the Philippine Cities towards becoming safer and resilient cities. He shared Seoul City has the right formula in addressing environmental issues and the impacts of climate change. 'On behalf of all the cities in the Philippines, it is our pleasure to become a partner of Seoul City. Together, we can change climate change", he added.

Seoul City Mayor Won Soon Park opined that Philippine Cities will gain new learnings on experiences and technologies regarding Seoul City's environmental infrastructures and facilities. "We are open to welcome you here and provide you necessary technical know- how, capacity building trainings and showcase our best practices and site visits for possible replication", he concluded.
