2013-01-23

Reference No. (2013-01-04)

MEMORANDUM

FOR : THE HONORABLE CITY MAYORS

FROM : JEREMY PHILIPPE T. NISHIMORI, OIC Executive Director

SUBJECT : SURVEY ON LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT EFFORTS OF CITIES

DATE : January 23, 2013

We are respectfully requesting for your kind assistance in completing the survey on local economic development (LED).

LCP wishes to survey members to identify success stories, impediments, and best practices regarding LED initiatives in their jurisdictions. The goal is to provide you, the members, with an on-line resource that could assist in developing LED practices in the future. This is consistent with the strategic objective of the League to be of assistance in the development of cities toward self-reliance.

In the first part of the survey, we want to know about your city’s specific initiatives in local economic development, such as community marketing and promotion, economic development planning, industry promotion, etc. The second section solicits information on the broader community-based economic development initiatives that are being spearheaded by other stakeholders in your community.

The survey form can be answered by your City Planning and Development Officer/Coordinator or Investment Officer. You may download the form at
www.lcp.org.ph under Documents and send the accomplished survey form through facsimile # (02) 470-7210, attention, Policy Unit. For any inquiries, please contact Veronica Hitosis , our Head of Policy at 02-470-6843 or 0916-8169546.

Thank you very much in advance for taking the time to complete this survey. Hopefully, the deadline of February 8, 2013to accomplish this survey will not be too imposing.
