Statement of LCP Pres. Mayor Michael L. Rama Regarding LCP's Position on Amending the PH Consti

By LCP Secretariat
January 12, 2024 - Quezon City

The General Assembly, consisting of 149 member cities of the League of Cities of the Philippines, has yet to adopt a resolution supporting charter change. As per Article 8, Section 2 of the LCP Constitution and By-Laws, the General Assembly is the highest governing body of the League. It is responsible for the League's overall policy, direction, and oversight. It is premature to state the position of the League on a national issue as important as charter change without consulting the entire membership.

Rest assured that as your National President representing the League, I value everyone’s opinion and will commit to consulting you before making any statements on important national matters.

Thank you for your cooperation and support.
