Highlights of PRRD's address during the IATF-EID meeting (28 May 2020)

 

⛔ CQ DECLARATIONS BEGINNING 01 JUNE 2020

• NCR will be under GCQ

• Other areas under GCQ, with general situation still subject for review: Regions 2, 3, 4, 8, and the provinces of Pangasinan and Albay

• The rest of the country will be under MGCQ

 

🛡 LGU-RELEVANT UPDATES

• LGUs can utilize their local radio stations to augment the learning of children.

• Domestic air operation on GCQ-to-GCQ areas will be allowed.

• Allowed public modes of transportation in NCR: MRT-3, buses, taxis, Grab, P2P, and bikes.

• There will also be dedicated lanes for buses and bikes in EDSA.

• Thru the Palamigan ng Bayan Program, LGUs will be receiving freezers for storage of agri and fishery products.

• LGUs were reminded to help expedite hospitalization of stranded individuals.

• LGUs to accept OFWs and impose additional measures such as mandatory 14-day quarantine

 

🤲 UPDATES ON THE 2ND TRANCHE OF THE SAP ACCORDING TO SILG AÑO

• DILG is ready for the second tranche of SAP and is waiting for funds to be downloaded from DSWD.

• There will be automated payments for SAP distribution.

 

✏ EDUCATION-RELATED UPDATES FROM DEPED SEC BRIONES

• PRRD calls for a staggered payment of school fees.

• LANDBANK to lend support for the education of children belonging to poor families.

• Various approaches such as blended and distance learning will be adjusted according to the condition of the students.

• For those without internet connection, printed materials will be provided through barangays and other designated areas.

• Use of online learning platform such as the DepEd Commons

• Use of television and radios for those who do not have access to computers

• LGUs to utilize their radio stations

• PCOO and IBC-13 to be utilized for the children's education

 

💸 RENTAL FEES

• PRRD appealed to mall owners and landlords to waive rental fees due to business closure.

• DTI to address the problem on rentals

 

🚑 HEALTH-RELATED UPDATES FROM SOH DUQUE

• Total confirmed cases: 15,588

• New cases: 539 (330 from NCR, 55 from Central Visayas, 99 from other regions, 55 from repatriated individuals)

• Enough health facilities (ICU beds, isolation units, ventilators, etc.)

• "Low mortality rate in the country"

 

🚌 TRANSPORTATION AFTER MECQ-GCQ TRANSITION FROM SOTr TUGADE

• Expand international aviation gateways in Clark, Davao, and Cebu

• Put up test laboratories in airports of Clark, Davao, and Cebu

• Domestic air operation on GCQ-to-GCQ areas will be allowed, especially to spur domestic tourism

• Put into operation trains and rails with social distancing marks

• To finish rails of MRT-3 trains on September

• Dedicated lane for buses under Bus Augmentation System

• Bike lane in EDSA in partnership with DOTr and MMDA

• Enhanced P2P

• Allow Grab and taxis to operate

• Digitized operations, cashless transactions, online application, and renewal of licenses in LTO offices

• Launch of electronic ticketing system

 

🏥 NTF FOR COVID-19 UPDATES BY SEC GALVEZ

• Visits in Region 12, Davao City, Zamboanga City, Bohol, Caraga Region, Laguna, and Baguio City where test kits and PPEs were provided

• Bohol and Baguio City as models for new normal with a possibility of opening local tourism

• Cebu City has increased cases, but has conducted expanded testing and is preparing for GCQ

 

👮‍♀️ ADDITIONAL UPDATES FROM SILG AÑO

• Decrease in fire incidence and crime rates

• Continued enforcement of peace and order

• Retaining provincial borders: to issue travel pass for travels from one province or region to another

• Limiting mall customers

• Bicycles to be used as primary mode of transportation especially for short distances to work

 

🧳 ON OFWs

• Total repatriated OFWs: 26,590

• Testing is conducted for OFWs under quarantine.
