To highlight its full support for the K-to-12 Law and the 2016 implementation of the senior high school program, the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) headed by its National Chairman, Cagayan de Oro Mayor Oscar S. Moreno and Secretary-General, Marikina Mayor Del R. De Guzman presented the signed Statement of Support to Education Secretary Brother Armin A. Luistro FSC. The LCP leadership believes that a comprehensive basic education reform as embodied by the K-to-12 Law, which takes into consideration the present and future needs of our young learners, is enough reason to commit to a successful senior high school implementation in 2016.

The statement was signed by key officials of the League and members of the recently established City LEADERS Coalition for Senior High School. Its presentation culminates the half-day education summit titled: City LEADERS Geared Up for Senior High School: Uswag Kagay-anon! Yes to Senior High School! held last 21 April 2015 at the Grand Caprice Restaurant and Convention Center, Limketkai, Cagayan de Oro City.
