Statement of LCP Pres. Mayor Michael L. Rama Regarding LCP's Position on Amending the PH Consti

Quezon City, 12 January 2024 - The General Assembly, consisting of 149 member cities of the League of Cities of the Philippines, has yet to adopt a resolution supporting charter change. As per Article 8, Section 2 of the LCP Constitution and By-Laws, the General Assembly is the highest governing body of the League.

(ILEFDF) urging the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), and the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) to conduct a thorough investigation as regards the root causes of the power outage in the Panay Island last Tuesday, 2 January 2024.

LCP Board convenes in Boracay

Boracay, Aklan, 1 December 2023 - LCP National Chairman and Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez convened the 76th National Executive Board to discuss important matters affecting city administration and governance. LCP National President and Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama sent his warmest greetings and wished the Board a productive meeting through a video message. Assisting Mayor Benitez was Vice-President for the Visayas and Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Remollo. The discussions revolved around increasing the resources of cities for improved governance.

LCP inks partnership with Viatris Pharmaceutical on health advocacies

Mabalacat City, 18 August 2023 - The LCP and Viatris Pharmaceutical signed a memorandum of agreement on strengthening the health programs and advocacies in the cities, particularly on non-communicable diseases. Both parties agreed to exchange information and lessons learned regularly to enhance understanding of the nature, magnitude, and impact of the applicable health programs at the city level and cooperate in capacity-building activities.

Quezon City, 5 March 2023 - The League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) strongly condemns the killing of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo. This despicable act, committed by the perpetrators disguised as uniformed personnel, happened in broad daylight and while the Governor was acting in the service of his community. Not only that, five other lives were taken. We hope that these malefactors are swiftly brought to justice as a stark warning to all others who intend to commit similar deplorable acts.
